What does ISO Mean?
ISO is an acronym for the International Organization for Standardization. You can learn more about this body at www.iso.org. ISO is also borrowed from the Greek word isos, which means "equal." The ISO’s mission is to facilitate the creation of a worldwide industrial and manufacturing standard that would ensure that all ISO 9001 certified quality systems are "equal."
What is ISO 9001?
ISO 9001 is a written set of requirements (referred to as "the standard") created and published by the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC). The standard outlines the basic elements necessary to ensure that Kinetic’s products and services meet or exceed the customers’ requirements. Basically, ISO 9001 requires that certified users follow a consistent manufacturing process that is proven and repeatable.
What are principles of ISO 9001?
ISO 9001 defines the requirements of a certified "quality system." An ISO 9001 certified quality system is a documented set of procedures that ensures that Kinetic meets the customers’ requirements. Basically, ISO 9001 requires that certified users document their manufacturing process and verify their conformance to their documentation and their customers’ requirements. Further, certified users are required to monitor their conformance and plan, implement and verify continuous improvements. |
